Our hosts have been asked many different questions from many different people. Here are some of our most popular questions for your review.

How Much Does it Cost to Play?

Oddly enough, we receive this question often and each time it still surprises us. Apparently somewhere out there someone is actually charging people to play pub trivia which is ridiculous. Trivia Kings on the other hand is almost always free to play as every single regular location offers our trivia entertainment free of charge. The only occasions where it is not would be during special one-time fundraising events and other private functions. If you feel inclined to make a monetary expression of your satisfaction we highly recommend you pay it forward by taking care of your servers. As always, the best compliment you can make is by referring a friend to play at any of our various locations.

How Many Players Are Limited to a Team?

Unlike other providers that limit teams to four or six players, Trivia Kings' InQuizitive! brand of team trivia does not limit the amount of players in order to play. If you feel that your team needs a legion of players in order to accumulate points and move up the rankings then that is your prerogative. Unfortunately having larger teams does come at a price as nightly grand prizes won by teams larger than six players are differed to the highest scoring team of regulation size. Can You Change or Peek at Answers?

Once you have submitted your answer(s) you may not change them. We don't quite understand what is so hard to understand about this concept, but every night the question always comes up. A close relative of this situation is asking to receive the answer(s) after submission in advance of any public announcement. Please be patient and wait for answers like everyone else. We promise you that the wait will add to the suspense and reactions of your team.

What if the Announced Answer is Wrong?

All of our questions are thoroughly researched and we try not to use questions that are ambiguous. Nevertheless on very rare occasions we may make an error or our sources may have made an error. If you feel this is the case, and we encourage you to pick your battles, please inform your host as kindly as possible and as soon as possible, but only after confirming your claim. Our hosts reserve the right to use their judgment in making any personal or widespread corrections so please respect their decisions.

What Was that Great Song You Just Played?

Aside from our great trivia, another thing that sets us apart from competitors is our seamless integration of great music throughout the evening and our impressive collection of not only popular rock and pop hits but our amazing library of independent music that is far ahead of mainstream recognition. If at anytime you like something you hear, feel welcome to ask your hosts who the recording artists are. They would be happy to give you information about their playlist. Please be careful though, should you decide to use your handheld devices to research songs as it may appear that you are cheating, especially during our music rounds!

How Can You Say
You're the Biggest and Best in DC?

For the most part, most trivia locations throughout the country are rather small in their size, ranging from 50-100 people and anywhere from five to 20 teams, dependent on seating and team limitations. It is very rare for any location to go over this benchmark due to competition from other various sources, internal seating capacity, and most often the lack of retention that leads to turn over.

In the Washington Metropolitan Area, there are approximately a dozen locations which push these limits regularly with three in Montgomery County, four in Northern Virginia, and five in Washington. These locations have committed to investing in the seating space, marketing, and most importantly patience required in order to have a distinctive trivia night. All of these locations, with only one exception, have spent almost three years (and for some almost a decade) building up a reputation and loyal following.

The one exception in this case is the flagship Trivia Kings location, which has been on the market for just over a year, and happens to also have the area's record for most patrons on a single night with over 300 guests playing trivia on several occasions, a feat which is almost impossible for most trivia providers to successfully operate efficiently. In addition, this same location, and all other Trivia Kings locations, are the only venues in the entire city to offer such services as team name tents, electronic archival of detailed scoring, and interactive online statistics and standings which have made it the best regarded entertainment value in the market today.

Currently, of these dozen notable locations, one national provider operates four locations, another regional provider operates one location, six are operated in-house, and two are operated by Trivia Kings. Within the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area there are roughly six national or regional providers that operate approximately 1/5 of all the venues which have regular trivia nights. Of all these providers, Trivia Kings operates the most venues within the metropolitan area, almost double the closest competitor. The value that Trivia Kings offers has currently positioned it to surpass all national and regional providers within the Mid-Atlantic Region this year using several different metrics.
